In 2014 Steppin on Sparks won the All American Quarter Horse Congress Junior Reining Champion with Jordan Larson and tied for reserve at the AQHA World Show which resulted in a 3rd place after the tiebreaker. In 2015 Jordan and Sparky placed the highest in the go round in the NRHA Derby and took 7th in the L4 Open. With Jordan, Sparky accumulated an additional $27,919.67 and crossed the $100,000 mark for his lifetime earnings. Sparky retired completely sound after the Derby to focus on his career as a breeding stallion and pass his soundness of mind and body onto the next generation.

In 2015, Matthieu Button was given an opportunity to show Steppin on Sparks at the National Reining Breeders Championship and added an additional $5,000 to Sparky’s LTE as a 2015 NRBC Open L2 and L3 Finalist.
$20,481.94 - Ryan Rushing
In 2014, Ryan Rushing (former assistant to Jordan Larson) showed Sparky as a 5 year old and made the Open level 2, 3 and 4 finals at the NRBC, taking home the Championship title of the Open Level 2. Sparky went on with Ryan to the Open Finals at the NRHA Derby that year. Ryan’s time riding Steppin on Sparks resulted in $20,481.94 added to Sparky’s lifetime earnings.
$17,979.98 - Marco Ricotta
In 2013 Marco Ricotta made the Open Finals with Sparky at the NRHA Derby and the NRBC and added just shy of $18,000 to Sparky’s lifetime earnings. Plus Steppin On Sparks made the OPEN FINALS at every major event in his Futurity and Derby years. Now that’s a show horse!

Steppin on Sparks began his career under Andrea Fappani who accumulated over $27,000 in earnings. Andrea, rode Sparky into the Finals at the 2012 NRHA Open L4 Futurity. A 2 point penalty kept Sparky out of the top 5 that night. Although, he still won over $17,000 and finished in the top 20. An incredible achievement for any horse today. Andrea Fappani showed Sparky again at Reining By The Bay later that spring to finish 3rd with a score of 225.
